Weekend Stuff and layouts

On pregnancy
I'm on my eleventh week now. The morning sickness seems to be getting worse. I'm never eaten so much candies until now, it helps a lot. Nevertheless, I'm excited about our baby. Being the reader that I am, I bought some books on pregnancy and babycare. I'm learning lots of stuff. Although reading about giving birth makes me a bit nervous. I'm particularly concerned about episiotomy an C-section. Epidural seems to be a good option but the way they perform it is quite scary. I know I'm way far from delivery (LOL) but I'd like to be prepare and know what my options are. I'm still not sure where to give birth either. My choices are either KK Hospital or Raffles Hospital. I have to decided soon though as on my 12th week I can have the option of taking the prenatal package which would be relatively cheaper than paying upfront for each visit. It would include ultrasound scans and antenatal vitamins as well.
On Sunday Mornings
I love Sundays. Its the only day of the week I can sleep longer and have nothing to worry about (yeah I bloody work on Saturdays as well). Hubby of course doesn't have to work on Saturdays (lucky him) so we have our quality time on Sundays only. Its nice to just be home, cuddle, watch TV, cuddle some more, play computer games...have fun.
On scrapping
I got some layouts done this weekend...I'm pretty please with myself :)

My color

Take this test at Tickle
Your true color is Brown!

You're brown, a credible, stable color that's reminiscent of fine wood, rich leather, and wistful melancholy. Most likely, you're a logical, practical person ruled more by your head than your heart. With your inquisitive mind and insatiable curiosity, you're probably a great problem solver. And you always gather all of the facts before coming to a timely, informed decision. Easily intrigued, you're constantly finding new ways to challenge your mind, whether it's by reading the newspaper, playing a trivia game, or composing a piece of music. Brown is an impartial, neutral color, which means you tend to see the difference between fact and opinion easily and are open to many points of view. Trustworthy and steady, you really are a brown at heart

Saw this test at Leah's blog, decided to take it myself...so what's your true color?

Life...oh life...

Today is the end of my two-day rest time. I'm going back to work tomorrow. Gosh thinking about it makes me feel tired already. Honestly I don't fancy getting up early these days...and going to work as well. I just stayed at home these past two days, folded the laundry and hanged ironed clothes back in our closets, cooked lunch and dinner for me and hubby, sleep a little, scrap a little. Nothing really exciting, but I kinda liked it. I'm soo looking forward to staying home. That won't happen permanently until June (hopefully) but I'm soo looking forward to it already.

Yesterday I was chatting with a friend at Chikka, it was nice to reminisce a little. We talked about how much fun we had back in college. Those times when we go to clubs and party almost every weekend. Hanging out at one friend's house just playing video games, singing videoke, drinking, talking to guys on the phone and cooking our famous spicy tuna with egg for lunch. We love to go to the mall and watch chick flicks. Its kinda amazing how we managed to get good grades (be in Dean's list) and have lots and lots of fun. We also had fun going out of town. Going to Tagaytay on a boring Sunday or driving to Laguna just to have something to do. I miss how back in college we don't have much worries in the world. I miss how much I laughed my ass off when I'm with my friends. How time flies, now all of us have jobs...one is already a mom...I'm married and soon to be a mom. I miss those days but I'm also happy with my life right now.

Baby Updates and more...

Today I took time out from work to have my check up. I honestly feel so tired these days, and the morning sickness keeps getting worst. My co-workers commented that I look pale and I'm having back pains. I'm a wreck...I'm so tired.
So I went to see my doctor today, and I got to see our little one. Hubby wasn't with me since it was a morning appointment, its the first time he missed a chec up. I actually don't mind, I kept him updated over the phone. I didn't mind him not being around until I was told that they will need to take my blood sample. I don't fancy being poked with needle. As a child I use to cry buckets when I had vaccination shots. As an adult, I don't cry buckets anymore (I think that would be weird) but I'm still scared of needles. So when the nurse draw my blood I didn't even look.
On with the pleasant experience, the most exciting part of the check up is the scan. I get to see how the baby is doing. Today I was able to see his hands and feet. The doctor took time to find a position where I can clearly see the tiny white dots that was his hands and feet. I could see his tiny heart beating too! The doctor used a doppler and I was able to hear our baby's heartbeat again...it was the most comforting sound. I'm just soo happy he's doing great.
My next checkup would be in three weeks time so I'm about thirteen weeks pregnant by then. The doctor talked to me about having the Down Syndrome test done. Down Syndrome is caused by having an extra copy of a particular chromosome (Trisomy 21). Down Syndrome Blood Test called Maternal Serum Biochemistry Screening Test can be done to detect this chromosome abnormality. Well nothing can be done to cure this and the only option is abortion. We opted not to take this test. Since there's no cure for it there's no point really. Abortion is never an option for us either. We just have to pray to God for a healthy baby, that's all we can do.

So here's a snapshot of our little one...hope you can see him...

Happy Birthday TO ME!

I turned 24 today.

My colleagues took me and my hubby to dinner at Jack's Place last Thursday to celebrate.

It was 11:55pm Friday night when my husband started to greet me. I told him that its not midnight yet so technically its not yet my birthday. So he disappeared to the living room and I continued with what I was doing. At midnight, he came back to our room with a slice of cake with candle and sang me Happy Birthday. Awww it was really sweet!

We decided not to have a party this year. Well actually we're suppose to be watching the F1 Grand Prix this weekend but since I'm pregnant we decided its best not to go. I was really looking forward to watching the race this year but its going to be extremely hot and it would require tremendous amounts of walking so we didn't go. I'll just watch it on TV.

I've been craving for spaghetti all week and on my today hubby cooked for me.Yaay! He's really the best!

I also had a cake from work today. It was yummy.

Thanks for all the greetings everyone!

Very Lazy

I haven't updated this blog for almost a week...I haven't done any layouts too. These days I'm just soo lazy to do anything when I come home from work. I'm still being plagued by all day sickness, its hard to eat in the morning...and even harder to find something to eat during lunch time that won't make me want to throw up. Though I don't think I look pregnant, I really have to buy loose clothes this week. My clothes still fits but wearing my jeans is becoming a bit uncomfortable.

We went for a check up a few days ago...and we were able to hear the baby's heartbeat!!!! I can't really explain how I felt...but it was amazing. The doctor showed us the baby and pointed out the tiny dot that was blinking in the monitor...that was the baby's heart! After that he let us hear the heartbeat...it was just great. The baby's heart was beating so fast, which was normal of course. I guess this is one of our first with the baby.

That's the baby's heart beat rate

1.2cm

The other day I was chatting with my friend and she told me that she still can't imagine me pregnant. To be honest, sometimes I still can't believe I'm pregnant...but I am...and I'm sooo happy.
We've been thinking about baby names lately...actually I have a name for a baby girl since I was 15 (I wanted the name for myself actually but since I can't have it by baby should right?). But a few people have been telling me that we might have a baby boy, and I don't have any name yet. So I didn my research, I even bought a book of baby names and I've come up with a few choices. I just need to convince my husband and its not weird, hard to pronounce or too common. I tell you he's sooo picky.

I've added a photostrip at the sidebar of this blog...just some of our wedding photos. Here it is...

Monday Blues

I don't have one today because I'm on leave (just for today though). Its nice not having to wake up early on a Monday. I haven't done any layouts, I don't feel like doing any today. I didn't do much actually, I'm either eating or watching TV or asleep. We're off to visit my doctor later. I have some questions I need to ask. At the moment I don't have any particular craving but I feel like throwing up almost all the time. Its not morning sickness for me, its more like all day sickness. I might need to buy clothes in a few weeks time. Some of my pants are already a bit tight I figured it will only be a matter of weeks before I couldn't wear it anymore. Gosh maternity clothes are a bit expensive here...and ugly. Whoever is designing those clothes must really hate pregnant women. I look at racks upon racks of clothes and I couldn't find anything that I remotely like. Maybe if my mom is pregnant she could wear those but not me. Really ugly I tell you. But I really need clothes, I guess I should scan each iteam...maybe there's something I will like. And also my mother in law will be here next month. I asked my sister to buy clothes for me in the Phils. (where I think designers love pregnant women) and give it to my mother in law to bring here.

Early Birthday Presents

My birthday is in two weeks time while Dh will celebrate his next month. We decided to get ourselvers early birthday presents (same as last year actually). So yesterday we bought ourselves new mobile phones.

I got the Nokia N70 for me and DH chose the Sony Ericsson W900i for him. Dh's phone is pretty cool (and way more expensive than mine...lol) but I couldn't see myself using another brand than Nokia. Well right now they don't have any new phone with the specs I want so I'm contented with my purchase. DH will get his phone probably on Tuesday when the stock arrives. Meanwhile his using the phone we got for his mom, she's coming over to visit next month. Thats a very happy birthday to both of us.

Somewhat scary

Today I took a half day leave, I wasn't feeling well so DH and I decided to see a doctor just to be sure that nothing is wrong with the baby. Fortunately the baby is fine and just need to take things slow a bit. I'm on my 6th week and 6th days of pregnancy. The baby's heartbeat is okay too. I must admit though I'm not very comfortable with the internal scan. Oh well I guess there's always a first time for everything.

Here's the photo of the baby...
